Meet
Women at Your Gym

We
don't know exactly where you are as far as working out each week, but
here in Phoenix the gyms like L.A. Fitness and Bally's can be pretty good
sources for female contact. The trick is to get women to notice you without
coming off as some gym bully or a Mirror Mickey.
First, we'll give you a few hints of what NOT to do if you want
chicks to notice you in a positive way.
1. Contrary to what some magazines would have you believe, chicks are
NOT attracted to guys who wear muscle shirts and tight spandex shorts.
Lose the headband, too. And that t-shirt that says, "I eat pussy
for my protein"...? Give it to your weird Uncle Danny.
2. Don't TRY to stand out. You want to see some real losers at
the gym? Watch the geek clanging the dumbbells together at the top of
his fly set while he grunts like a gorrila through each rep. Or...checkout
the poof sprinting on the treadmill like it's the Olympic 800 meters,
then collapsing against the rail while he makes a noise like an industrial
strength DustBuster. Get real!
3. Whatever you do, don't finish a set by popping off a last rep and screaming
"Yes, baby, YES!" then striking a pose like you're ready to
take on both Apollo Creed and Mike Tyson. Leave the serious face and posturing
to the high school kids.
4. Use the equipment. Guys who come to the gym and do 500 jumping jacks
in the mirror, Bruce Lee martial arts moves, and weird push-ups...are
seen as...well, weird.
5. Don't follow chicks around and offer them "training advice".
They view the personal trainers as the experts. Don't get next to a hottie
as she's finishing her last few reps and start in with some stupid mantra
like, "It's all you, baby. Bring it home smooth. BRING IT HOME, BABY!.
" Chicks see this as sexual and figure you must say the same thing
when you jackoff.
6. Hitting on every chick in there is both obvious and counter-productive.
Remember, their locker room is like the restroom at the bar...times ten.
It is their source of gossip and information, which to chicks is the same
thing. If you say something stupid, like..."I was going to get a
Balance Bar, but I'd rather gobble you, instead," you're going to
get tagged as a pervert when they all meet up to "share" at
the blow-dryers.
"So...how
do you get noticed?"
Here's what we've heard from women in the gyms where we workout:
* Wear clean and normal fitting athletic clothing. Women notice "outfits".
(It is one of the first vocabulary words they ever learned.) They notice
every stain and hole, too.
*Wear clean looking shoes. Who wudda thunk it? For some reason women notice
a guy's shoes right off the bat. Go figure. Oh yeah...get this...they
prefer white colored shoes to all-black ones.
* Smile briefly at chicks while you rest between sets, but stay focused
on your workout. Women know if you are checking them out...to see if they
are checking you out.
*Women are much more attracted to form than to poundage. Do your program
in a strict manner. They also admire intensity, but not the kind that
involves screaming, cussing, and cheating up an overloaded bar.
* If you fail at an attempted lift, or one last rep, she'll be much more
enamored with you if you catch her eye, roll yours, and give her a little
wink...as opposed to sulking or walking around in a huff.
* When you do decide to speak to her, keep it short. Saying something
like "Hey, you work hard" or "You really stay focused"
when you pass, then smiling easily as you walk away to get back to your
own workout will make her curious. (Remember, only ONE compliment per
day in the beginning and NEVER...NEVER about her body parts.)
Later, you can always ask something humorous like: "How'd it go?
Can you benchpress the juice bar now?" and get her name.
The gym can be just like just like your favorite cowboy bar...except all
the lights are on. It's a great place to practice and refine your approach,
as well as getting in better physical condition. A double-win situation.
Be focused and unconcerned...let her notice you.
